Centuries old wood repurposed into unique and creative Functional Art Designs

BUTASE

A chair with two holes at the bottom: Butase supports the buttocks while keeping the ischium bones suspended, allowing comfortability in sitting despite being made of hardwood.

BAKI

Also called a “Yoga Chair”, the curves in the back support allow the user to flex his back fully in different positions.

LESBAK

Lesbak – a play on the word “backless” – an almost skeletal chair designed to accommodate and support the body where it is most needed.

Materials

All the wood Clifford and his team works with are indigenous to the Philippines. These hard woods such as Yakal, Ipil, Narra, Molave, Giho, and Saplungan are centuries old. Clifford blends these woods together to design beautiful functional art pieces that are unique, colorful, and eye-catching.

Design

Clifford’s designs are one of a kind art pieces that will enhance your décor in your home, business, or gallery. Each piece is created from reclaimed old wood, cleaned, polished, and finished with expertise and detail. Every aspect is considered in the making: ergonomically, proportion, aesthetics and functionality.

Craft

All Functional Art pieces are hand-crafted by highly dedicated craftsman who use minimal machinery and only wooden joinery and pegs to craft their art pieces. Every art piece is different with their own unique wood markings. Starting from reclaimed century old wood to creative designs to becoming fine works of Functional Art pieces.
